Chapter
1:
We talked worriedly as we raced down
the mountain of fears. We were all taking the big step of our lives, especially
me Serafina. I was pampered mermaid princess from Miromara, the southern
waters, after it had been invaded by Traho’s soldiers on the day of my
coronation. Both my mother and father had died with poisonous arrows stinging
at their chest after sacrificing their lives for me. It was then, when I was
rescued at a strange beach at Seccrum. When I woke up, two strangers showed up
and looked at me weirdly. “Was it because of my tail?” I wondered, I raced my
view to my beautiful glooming tail, but instead I found a pair of legs. I had
never used them before, so I decided to act naturally. I tried my hardest, but
I stumbled the whole way. After that, I was taken to the queen’s chambers where
Queen Asha interviewed me. She asked me tons of questions, but my answers were
lies. I told her my name was Sheyla and that the last thing I remember was war.
Eventually, she concluded I was a lost worrier that had fallen to the ocean by
my enemies. It was true that war was going on. On both land and water. The
thought scared me like crazy and I almost fell to the ground. The queen asked
me if I wanted to go to my room. I hurried up over there and jumped in the hot
tub. I sparkled and shined and spun, and I splashed in the water. My beautiful turquoise
tail shimmered and sparkled. I sang one of my magic songs, and soon swirls of
magic dust danced around the bathroom. I missed home so much, I couldn’t
believe that I had survived the whole thing. It was so scary, maybe I was more
than I thought, I wondered but soon I let that thought fly away like the magic
dust just as I heard a knock on the door. I completely stood up, and the magic
dust disappeared. My tail turned into a pair of legs and I was dressed up with
a turquoise silk gown, my hazel hair was down and dry and I was wearing beautiful
black platforms. “Who is it?” I asked calmly. “It is the guards, come by the
banquet halls! Order of the queen!” they
screamed firmly as they marched down the hallway. I hurried down the stairs as
something caught my eye. It was the queen, sitting in her gigantic cushioned
throne. It was gold and silver, and it seemed to be pretty comfortable. The
queen too, was wearing a gown but her gown was puffy and white. Her crown
sparkled the most. It was beautiful and shiny. I stood next to two other
strangers. They stood still, so I did the same. Finally, the queen spoke. “Your
job, is to go to Estima where you’ll find your destiny, you’ll know what to do
after that” as she spoke, we all marched out the castle doors. My worst
nightmare had just started.
